travel cruising the world grand princess dining at sea
EXECUTIVE CHEF: JOEL DIRECTO

Menu selections in Princess diningrooms change daily and usually include, at least, one meat dish, one fish dish, and one vegetarian dish.
Aside from these selections that change every day, Princess offers one or two "Princess Favorites" in each category that are always available.
While the quality of the selections vary from day to day and ship to ship, evening dining can, almost always, be counted on to be an especially good meal.

The highly dependable highlights of Princess dining are always the exceptional breads, pastries, and variety of "starters" and desserts.
As a general rule, most main courses can be depended upon to be well prepared and presented and very tasty.
Surprisingly, in contrast to other voyages on Princess (12), this particular voyage provided four separate main dinner courses that were exceptionally poor.
For some inexplicable reason, Princess seems to prepare excellent prime rib, short ribs, and beef Wellington and other meat dishes, but is consistently poor in its quality of steak served.
Three of our bad main courses were due to the tough, gristly, steak. The forth was a "mushy" fillet of sole that had to be returned uneaten.
It is my opinion that it is the quality of steak that was purchased as opposed to any poor preparation in the galley.
These four meals are the reason my rating is a star below the dining rating on most other cruises.
